• Lauren played the flute as a child.

• As a child, Lauren was a tomboy and her primary ambition was to become a jockey; she had an imaginary friend that was a small horse named Strawberry. She gave up on this dream when she grew too tall and was been thrown off of a horse multiple times, breaking her toes and wrists on a number of occasions.

• Lauren almost didn’t get the part of Lorelai Gilmore on her critically acclaimed series, Gilmore Girls because she had a full season contract with another series titled M.Y.O.B, but the series was cancelled after 4 episodes and Lauren got the role which catapulted her to stardom.

• Lauren is a honorary member of the Board of Camp Laurel, which is a camp for children living with HIV and AIDS.

• Lauren was ranked 13th on E! Online’s “Hollywood’s Bachelorettes: Sexy and Single” 2004 list.

• Before making it big Lauren supplemented her income from commercials by teaching SAT prep classes.

• Lauren’s first paying movie/TV job was for a Planned Parenthood video. Ironically, she played a pregnant teenager.

• Lauren started her own production company in 2003 called Good Game. She runs the company with Kathy Ebel, a close friend from college.

• Some of Lauren’s favorite actors on television are Denis Leary, Rachel Griffiths, Ricky Gervais, and Ashley Jensen.

• Lauren did a public service announcement for the organization “Women’s Voices. Women Vote.” The goal of the organization is to get more women to go out and vote.

• Lauren’s favorite shows include: Love International, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, 30 Rock, Project Runway, Six Feet Under and Extras. Her favorite classic shows include: The Incredible Hulk, The Bionic Woman, Wonder Woman, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and Laverne and Shirley.

• When Lauren was growing up her father would take her to the bookstore and buy her as many books as she could carry. To this day Lauren says that she never leaves home without “a book to read if things get boring.”

• When Lauren wants to get away from Hollywood she enjoys going to east coast beaches such as Sag Harbor.

• Lauren joined “The March for Women’s Lives Celebrity Coalition” in April 2004.

• Lauren has a sandwich named after her at Pappa Charlie’s Deli in Williamstown, MA called the Lauren Graham Sandwich. It consists of tomatoes, sautéed peppers, onions, mushrooms, 4 ounces of turkey, and is slid inside a pita with sprouts on top.

• Lauren’s hair takes one hour to blow dry straight.

• Lauren has always hated the WB frog logo because the frog wore a tuxedo. She felt that since it was a frog, it should wear something more casual, such as shorts.

• Lauren loves Japanese culture. When she was younger she had a Japanese nanny for two years. Her first word as a child was in Japanese.

• One of Lauren’s actress heroes is Diane Keaton. The two worked together in the film Because I Said So.

• Lauren played basketball in junior high and her father was her coach.

• Lauren enjoys running and is an active cyclist. Having finished college; Lauren travelled across France and Spain on her bicycle.

• Lauren’s favorite chocolate candy is See’s caramels.

• While starring in the movie, The Pacifier, along side Vin Diesel, Lauren did her first and only stunt in the movie, in which she was to jump off a wall. Her stunt double was not used for the only stunt in which Lauren’s character had to do, because she hurt her knee while attempting the stunt on the day of the shoot.

• Lauren loves watching The Sound of Music. She has even attended the annual sing-a-long at the Hollywood Bowl.

• Lauren’s favorite movie is The Philadelphia Story.

• Lauren was the lead in her high school’s production of Hello, Dolly!.

• Lauren is an investor in Grace Restaurant which is located in Los Angeles. Her friend is a chef at the restaurant.

• Lauren is right-handed.

• Lauren says that if she could step into the shoes of any rock star for a day, it would be Madonna.

• Lauren worked as a cocktail waitress in New York right before she moved to Hollywood.
